XRP experienced a 3.42% decline, settling at $1.39, just above its critical support range of $1.35 to $1.38. This price level is significant due to the substantial trading volume within this range, totaling approximately 3.2 billion XRP, making it a dense cost-basis cluster during the 2026 recovery.
With a market value of $87.4 billion across 62.88 billion tokens in circulation, XRP’s current price is 61.9% below its all-time high of $3.65 on July 17, 2025, and 49% lower than its value a year ago. However, it has rebounded 40.7% from its mid-August cycle low of $0.9877, highlighting the volatility of its late-summer recovery.
XRP’s Market forces and Network Developments
XRP stands out from other altcoins due to its unique market forces. U.S. spot XRP ETFs have seen nine consecutive weeks of net inflows, reaching a record $1.70 billion. In the week ending September 11, these funds attracted $18.98 million, nearly matching the previous week’s $18.96 million.
The XRP Ledger’s Batch V1.1 amendment is a significant network development. This upgrade allows users to bundle up to eight linked transactions into a single operation, ensuring they either all succeed or fail together. It has garnered support from 27 out of 35 trusted validators, with one more vote needed to initiate a 14-day activation countdown.

The Batch V1.1 upgrade underwent rigorous improvements after a critical flaw was identified in February. It was rebuilt with a root-cause fix, reviewed by four senior experts, and subjected to a public attack contest and two independent security audits. Released in xrpld 3.3.0 on August 6, the latest review identified and resolved 11 additional issues, including one critical problem related to signatures, authorization checks, and server stability.
Macroeconomic Factors and Legislative Impact
Macroeconomic conditions present challenges for all risk assets. The 10-year Treasury yield reached 5.041%, its highest since 2007, while WTI crude traded at $104.43. Fed funds futures indicate an 86.3% probability of a rate hike to 3.75% to 4.00% on Wednesday. The likelihood of the CLARITY Act becoming law in 2026 has decreased to 11-14%.
The Senate’s cloture vote, scheduled for 2:15 p.m. ET, requires 60 votes to proceed. With Republicans holding 53 seats, at least seven Democrats must support the motion. The House passed the bill with a 294-134 vote, and the Senate Banking Committee advanced it 15-9 in May, but it has since stalled. XRP and other altcoins are highly exposed to this vote, as the CLARITY Act would grant the Commodity Futures Trading Commission exclusive jurisdiction over spot markets for digital commodities, providing regulatory clarity.
XRP’s current market position is the result of a rapid surge followed by a steady decline. After a challenging summer, the market turned on August 19 when the U.S. Treasury announced a significant expansion of its buyback program for long-term government bonds, leading to a broad altcoin rally. XRP soared 70% from $1.00 to $1.70 in less than 72 hours between August 19 and 22.

However, this breakout was short-lived, as XRP faced resistance at $1.70 and retreated to $1.50 by the following week. It reached a closing high of $1.5196 on August 23 but gradually declined through the end of the month. In mid-September, XRP traded around $1.41, fluctuating near the $1.40 mark after recovering from its summer lows.
Since August 22, XRP has exhibited a pattern of lower highs, from $1.70 to $1.52 to $1.42, while maintaining support around $1.35. This consolidation phase coincides with two significant events: the steady inflows into spot XRP ETFs and the impending Senate vote on the CLARITY Act. The ETF inflows, totaling $19 million weekly, have provided a stable demand for XRP, but a hawkish surprise could impact this pace. The fund complex, holding $1.45 billion in assets, is sensitive to allocator risk budgets, which tighten when Treasury bills offer higher returns.
XRP’s intraday performance reflects the current trading environment. Its morning strength was driven by token-specific news, including record ETF flows and the Batch V1.1 vote count. However, afternoon weakness emerged due to macroeconomic factors. This dynamic highlights XRP’s dual nature: on quiet macro days, its flows and network catalysts can propel it ahead of other major cryptocurrencies, but on days dominated by oil prices, yields, and legislative news, it trades in line with the broader high-beta altcoin market. XRP’s 3.42% decline mirrors Bitcoin’s 3.36% drop and outperforms Ether’s 4.57% slide, suggesting that ETF demand is partially offsetting selling pressure, as XRP remains above its critical support zone at $1.39.
Macroeconomic Influences on XRP’s Price
The oil market also plays a role in XRP’s price trends. With WTI crude trading at $104.43, up 3.00%, and Brent reaching $107.90, higher oil prices are contributing to inflation expectations, prompting the Fed to consider additional hikes. This, in turn, strengthens the dollar and real yields, negatively affecting XRP’s price.
